Overview

Create a custom object when your data needs its own records and attributes. For example, a subscription object can store several subscriptions for one company, each with its own identifier, plan, and renewal date. After creating the object, add attributes and populate its records through an integration or the API.

Create a custom object

1

Open Data management

Open Settings → Data management. Review the existing objects, then click New object.
2

Name the object

Enter an Object name, such as Subscription. Unify generates an API name from it. The object name appears in Unify; the API name identifies the object in integrations and API requests.Review the API name before saving. It must be unique in your workspace and cannot be changed after creation. Use a clear singular name, such as subscription, and share it with the developer who will send your data.
3

Create the object

Click Create object. Unify opens the object’s Attributes tab. A new custom object starts with no attributes and no records.Continue with Create attributes to define the values each record will hold.

Manage an existing object

Open a custom object in Data management, then use its options menu to choose Edit object. You can change the object name; its API name stays the same. Deleting a custom object deletes all of its records and cannot be undone. Review the integrations and workflows that use it before choosing Delete object. For programmatic setup, see Create an object with the API.
